The process runs in two distinct stages, usually on two connected machines:
Sleeve cutting and application: a continuous tube of shrink film is fed from a roll, cut to length, and placed loosely around the bottle as it passes through the applicator
Heat shrinking: the sleeved bottle travels through a heat tunnel (steam or hot air), which shrinks the film tightly against the bottle's exact contour, conforming to curves, facets and neck tapers that a flat label cannot follow
